Agree except for the choke and throttle on shut off. From my knowledge of engine operation, this would tend to wash any lubrication off the cyclinder walls on a 4 stroke motorcycle. Might have worked on an 2 stroke especially an oil injected one. On a short layup with synthetic oil I would do nothing, a longer one I would consider fogging the cylinder with oil (I think aviation folks call it pickling and they use a secial oil) or at least put some oil in the cylinder via the plug opening. Big job on a Savage. Years ago I used to put a shot glass of lacquer thinner in the tk in the spring to clean the residue out, would accomplish the same think as the fuel system cleaner Hogryder suggested. Stabill is available at WalMart locally and I have seen one application size packets at the Briggs and Stratton repair shop. Still wunny and nice on the dry side of the Cascades and I'm off to the bank and "old yeller" Max
